As with all our meat products the welfare of the chickens we buy is as important to us. The most popular whole chickens with our customers are barn reared and are from various farms in Yorkshire. All our chicken products are British and are exclusively from the north of England. We also have free range chickens available which we source from the Shropshire area. The cost of rearing these birds is necessarily higher making them understandably slightly more expensive. For example, to allow the chickens to roam free in a more natural habitat the farmers have to protect them from foxes.
